A Q&A With Ava Avocado

Q: Where are you from?

A: I’m from California. I hesitate to say that, though, because there are so many stereotypes about Californians, especially California girls. I do not wear short shorts-and I wouldn’t, even if I had legs. I don’t have blond hair-I’m beautifully bald. I am not tan-I flaunt my green skin all day. I don’t surf, but I do love the beach. I don’t have a convertible-my ride is my roll. I do love the sun, and I admit I like fashionable sunglasses. In fact, I’m currently working with a sunglasses company to make an avocado-specific design. It’s hard to keep sunglasses on when you don’t have a whole lot of facial features or hands to push them up on your face.

Q: What’s one thing you love about yourself?

A: My curves.

Q: What are you good for? I mean in terms of nutrition.

A: I have the good fat-monounsaturated fats are the junk in my trunk, if I can be so bold. I’m also a good source of fiber and potassium-take that Betty Banana!

Q: What do you make of the fact that you’re often misclassified as a veggie?

A: I don’t mind. I could see why people make that mistake because fruit is usually sweet and I’m more savory, but I have a sweet disposition, right…
